All weather patio furniture is a great investment as it is made of durable materials that help resists exposure to incremental weather as well as the ultra-violet rays the sun sends their way. Certain materials are more durable then others and have a price tag to reflect it.

Why all weather patio furniture is so desirable...
The most durable material used to create all weather patio furniture is teak wood. This wood has a very dense grain that repels moisture and prevents rot. Rain has little affect on the wood, as it cannot be absorbed in the same way other porous woods do. As a result you can leave your teak patio furniture out during rainstorms and even the winter months and not have to worry about ruining your patio furniture. Simple maintenance such as cleaning, light sanding and resealing the wood with teak oil will provide you with years of enjoyment.
Plastic patio furniture is another good selection for all weather patio furniture as it is also resistant to the affects of rain and moisture. When the resin is molded and hardened, it creates a waterproof seal that will not deteriorate with moisture. Plastic is susceptible to the affects of the sun and has a short life span although a cheaper price tag makes these items easily replaceable.
Metal patio furniture is very resistant to the elements with the exception of oxidation and rusting. To prevent this from happening most all weather patio furniture constructed of metal is powder coated and polished to keep the moisture from hitting bare metal. Should you come across a rust spot on your furniture, simply scrap and sand the area and touch it up with a rust proof paint to reseal the exposed area. The other great thing about metal patio furniture is it tends to be heavier so there's no need to worry when the wind picks up.
